Is it possible to transfer to uci or any other uc from cal poly pomona as a senior? So I honestly didn't realize I hadn't selected uci as a school choice when applying and I went to ivc to be able to get priority to uci. Now I'm transferring to cal poly pomona but I dislike the fact that gpa just transfers over and the administration blows. It takes them forever to get anything done. I just prefer a uc but I stayed in Southern California to be near my doctors because I have health issues and be near my family. My other option would be to go to ucr instead of cal poly pomona this fall but most classes are already full and my registration isn't until aug 30! So please advise me on which school to go to and if transferring is possible. My end goal is to become an anatomical pathologist.

Well, UCI does accept senior level transfers. As far as GPA goes, you will start fresh with a 0.0 UC GPA, but your overall GPA will still include your previous coursework taken at a cc or any other college. If you transfer from UCR, your UCR GPA will become your UCI GPA. If you do plan on transferring to UCI next year, try to take classes at either school that are more likely to transfer over to UCI. Just because you transfer as a senior doesn’t mean you graduate in 1 year. In fact, I got into UCI as a senior and I still have 2 years to go. This is because senior standing is determined by the number of units you’ve taken… So keep that in mind, if graduation time is a factor in your choice. I don’t know much about the other schools you mentioned, but thought it was worth sharing what I know about UCI :)

What school did you transfer from?

I transferred from MiraCosta college in Oceanside (took 66 units there), but I went to a foreign university for 2 years before attending MiraCosta, that’s what gave me enough units to be considered a senior.
