I want to transfer UCLA in Fall 2010 and my major is economics.
Is anyone know that what is the gpa requires to transfer UCLA in the major of economics?
Because I am in the honor transfer program and I can sign the Tap.
If my gpa is 3.86 for UCLA, and a school team member, is it possible for me to get in UCLA?
I ask this question because I am an international student and I know that UCLA does not enroll a lot of internatinoal student. Moreover, I got a C in mathematics which is not transfer to UCLA, and I just have a C in the transfer units which is one of the ESL class, is it has a problem to make me difficult to get in UCLA? Also, if I take more than 80 units in the college, is it has a problem to UCLA?

FOr USC, I want to apply business and I apply it this year, but they reject me. They said that because I do not have enough units. So, if I apply USC next year, and I get enough units, can I get in next year?

well, if you dont have very strong english, then first of all, ask a english speaking friend to look over your application for you before you submit it, just a tip… because if they find errors in your written english, even if they are small, theyll think that you either didnt put enough time into it so you didnt notice, or theyll be annoyed by it…

if you keep that GPA, and do some extracurricular activities like youre doing, then you should have a great chance :)

It is very difficult for international students to transfer into UCLA. Some with GPAs higher than your did not get accepted. I would recommend what the previous poster said about ensuring on your application that there are no English mistakes.

I just try my best and do not make any English mistakes in my personal statement, but it is little bit hard~ Is anybody know that what is the gpa requirement for the UCLA economics?

According to this, Economics had an average GPA enrollment of 3.84. However, that will be higher because you’re an international student. Consider applying to UCSD as well, they’re a Tier 5 School in Economics whereas UCLA is a Tier 3 and you can get a guarantee transfer there.

I don’t know…I am little bit confused. Because one of my fd is international student and he just 3.7. He transfers to UCLA economics…-_-another Korean fd is 4.0, he gets rejected and other people just 3.6, he gets into Business economics…He still an international student.

lily, you really should get someone to proofread your personal statements .

I’m an international student too and i have to say that you have really broken english. haha

Anyhow, it really doesn’t matter even if your gpa is 3.8 and above. USC receives 1000s of applicants whose GPAs are above 3.8. What they really are looking at is YOU, whether they deem you fit to contribute to the USC community!

No worries! work hard! even if you don’t get in, you can always try again.

There’s no point in comparing GPAs with your friends.
