Transfer to UCLA or USC

Just to add to your post my uncle went to Long Beach and he has been extremely succesful so has his son who went into real estate. :)

Also I have a succesful career now and I haven't even transfered yet. LOL

DHL- how old are you?

so you were talking about graduate school.

[/quote]

I was never talking about only graduate school...I was talking about overall....you were the one who said we weren't talking about graduate school. Frankly, if you want to believe USC is better than UCLA, if that will boost your ego, you can do that. I don't have a problem with that.

Sweetny: I believe DHL is still in high school

As a matter of fact, I'm not in high school.

Sweetny007, why u interested?

I'm not saying that USC is better.
I'm just arguing against you because the only reason why you say UCLA is better than USC is because it ranks higher.

I'm not saying USC is better; im just saying that UCLA is NOT better. there's a difference.

LOL o DHL no, no, no my husband would not appreciate that. :) I was just curious but w/e.

sorry sweetny007, but i already got a girlfriend. :P

If you're saying UCLA is not better, what are you trying to say then? Based on logic, you are either implying that a) they are equal, or b) USC > UCLA.

I'm trying to say that just because one ranks higher than another doesnt mean it's better.

There are more components other than ranks that really determines the quality of the school. And most importantly, it's impossible to say which one's better because it's all matter of personal opinion, and they are not universal.

But really, if you are looking for a direct answer, I'd say they are equal.

but whatever, my first choice school is Claremont McKenna.

"Business adminstiration (undergrad):
USC > UCLA (UCLA doesnt even have Business major)

Accounting:

USC > UCLA (USC's Accounting program ranks 4th in the nation)"

"US Newsweek:
UCLA 26
USC 27

NOT a large margin.

USC undegrad business program - #9 in the nation
USC undergrad Accounting prog - #4 in the nation
UCLA undergrad Econ program - God knows, but highly doubt it falls under top 10.

Let's not even talk about grad school cuz we are limiting our discussion to only undergrad schools."

"I'm trying to say that just because one ranks higher than another doesnt mean it's better.

Yep, I guess you weren't posting on this thread this whole time just to argue "which is better."

Lol. Peace out.

did you not read Citan's post before mine?

wow another USC vs. UCLA comparison thread...UCLA is a public uni and USC is private...thus a fair comparison isn't possible. UCLA is in reach of more students than USC. Outside of CA more people have heard of UCLA than USC so that should tell you which uni has better reputation. For some Marshall might offer the perfect business education but some might want the economics emphasis. Just because a certain someone picked Marshall over UCLA Biz/Econ doesn't necssarily make USC's program better. ** Let's face it in rankings UCLA constantly beats USC by a large margin be it in overall, engineering or business. So the USC ghetto kids need to **** and vent their insecurities somewhere else. ** kthanksbi.

I was simply correcting Citan regarding "UCLA beats USC in everything because the ranking says so" argument.

kthnxbb

Then if you believe that his statement contains little or no validity, why would you even care to argue?

cya

because that's what ppl do when they read a fraud statement.

Based on your tone, not only on this thread but on others, you seem to me like an insecure boy trying to convince himself that USC > UCLA by using rankings with arbitrary methods.

pellman, I don't get it.
Why are you arguing with me?
I clearly see your stance from the "prestigious school isnt everything" speech, and you are clearly not a fan of "higher ranks = better".
You should be arguing Citan then, not me.

You and I basically share the same view.

now you are bringing in other threads.
I see that you've run out of arguments.

well i better head off to my class then.

peace.

I'm getting personal here so I'll stop. All I'm trying to say is that if you like a school and like their program for your intended major, go for it. You need not compare schools, because those that do are usually the ones that are insecure.

I'm not taking your side or Citan's. I just hope that this ranking crap goes away.

Edit: I don't need to drift on other threads to further my arguement. The fact that you are ranking schools on this thread is enough evidence to supports what I said

I am surprised no one brought up dhl3's trolling thread in the UCLA forum

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=219393

citan, if you are calling me troll for "putting down" UCLA, you are not any better than I am for putting down USC based only on ranking.

no, I am calling you a troll because you started that thread in the official UCLA forum even though you knew what type of ruckus it would cause
