Transfer to UCLA

I am in community college in CA and really wanna transfer to UCLA in fall ‘06. My GPA is 3.9 so far. But I got B on one of my major requirement, and another major req. class will not be offered until next spring semester, so I have to take the class in the next spring.
Do I still have a chance to get into UCLA?

Major: Math/Econ
Have Been a Math Tutor

Yeah ofcourse you have a chance but what will set you apart is having all your major pre reqs completed by the time you apply and having the highest possible gpa especially major gpa which is the one with your major courses a B is alright but try to get mostly A's a lot of people are going to apply in 2006. The statistics show a steady increase in the number of students that apply each year but the number of seat available for new admits either stays the same or decrases due to the budget cuts in california. Keep your gpa up and you'll be aight.

Thanks a lot!!

You've got a very good chance. I got into UCLA with a 3.92, so the GPA is high enough. Also there is nothing wrong with waiting until the spring to take a class, it won't get you looked down upon during admissions. As long as you tell them you're taking it.

allena is absolutely right...I emailed UCLA admissions regarding taking a major prep course in the Spring because one wasn't available in the Fall. They said that would be fine...

thank you very very much

why does UCLA make u take the engineering math series when every other school including berkeley is cool with the life science calc series?

for econ majors that is..

Ofcourse having your prereqs completed by the time of applying is not a requirement but you cant argue the fact that it does make you a stronger candidate by presenting a transcript in which prereqs for your major are completed.

Mex,
If u finished up ur last prereqs in the fall, does that count as completed by the time of applying?
