Transfer to UCONN begins

Hey again,
Last post was to see if an internal transfer (from regional to Storrs) was possible before starting freshman year. Appearently this is not possible, even though i managed to find out there are dorms open; but i missed the deadline, so they told me I'm out of luck.

So, as recommended by someone on my previous post, I began looking into community colleges/other state schools. I've settled on doing a semester at Gateway Community College, then applying for transfer; but I have a few questions.

1) The deadline for applying for Spring transfer is Oct. 1st, the application opens the first week of August. My college transcript will not be ready by this time, so how do I go about this?
I would still be a transfer student right? since I intend on taking 12-16hours my first semester, but by the time the deadline is up my courses will only be about halfway complete. Would I apply as a transfer student.. or simply a new freshman for spring?

2)Is housing a guarantee for spring-transfer students?

3) Does the fact that I'm withdrawing my application from the UCONN hartford campus and then planning to apply to Storrs weigh in on this? (I applied to directly to the Hartford Campus and they would not let me change before freshman year, but I'm fairly certain if i had applied to Storrs I would have gotten in (3.2gpa HS, 1920 SATS, APs, etc.)

4) What is financial-aid like for transfer students?

5)What are my odds of being accepted as a one-semester transfer student?

Thanks everyone for any and all help, this site has been one hell of a resource for me lately!

Quick Add: Gateway has a transfer agreement for most course credit with UCONN, so transfer of credit should not be a problem.

+6) How competitive is transfer to UCONN, I would imagine less competitive than freshman admission? could be wrong of course, kind of combines with questions #5

Last Edit: Also under the impression that some students withdrawal applications or take leave of absence anywhere from July-September, as this is what I was told at the regional campus - it would be easy to switch class times as of mid-august since students withdrawal- Does this fact make any difference to me? People I’ve contacted at the college haven’t been as clear as I would like on this.
