What would be my chances to get to any UC school with only 2 semsters of calc? Planning to have a busy sheduld spring and really dont want to squeeze in a math to maintain gpa, but just wondering, does it have a big impact on transferring?

Different schools have different requirements. Some want a lot of math, some might just want Calc 1 or Calc 2. Check assist.org to see which schools want it. Remember that there are a ton of different factors for admission… GPA, ECs, pre-reqs, it’s a lot of different stuff. Especially for CS, which each school wants different pre-reqs for, it’s really hard to give an estimate of how it’ll affect you.

Naturally it’ll hurt your chances a little if it’s listed as a pre-req and you don’t complete it, but how much is impossible to say.

Ahh that’s true. Lets say a UC doesn’t require calc 3 as a pre req to transfer. After transferring I will eventually take it anyway for CS right?

for computer science definitely…all UCs want that for the degree, not sure about CSUs!

I’ll speak on behalf on Samueli school of engineering (UCLA)

Not only will you need calc 3 but also linear algebra and differential equations.

Plus the physics and chem prerequisites… If you have more than 3 missing
(calc 3 counts as 2 classes at UCLA math 32AB)

So don’t bother applying to be a bruin cause your your application will go to the recycling bin and be ruined.

However once you complete your math, physics, chem plus all the computer classes give Samueli a shot.
