Hello, was wondering if anyone could tell me my chances of getting into UCSD. I am about to graduate and really want to move closer to my brother who lives in San Diego. I would be transferring with a gpa of 3.6 and hope to have computer science as my major. Do I have a chance and is it different process because I was located in another state (I am originally from California)? Happy Holidays!

There’s a lot of other aspects that lead into admission decisions so tell us the other information as well as your GPA. have you completed all the prereqs? do you have IGETC? did you TAG? ECs?

preference goes to california community college students. In a nutshell its very hard to come in as an out of state student transfer, but not impossible.

[University of California - Transfer GPA](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/requirements/transfer-gpa/index.html)

10 percent of students that were accepted were not california community college students. Not too bad, apply anyway. Try UC Riverside as well. San Diego is only an hour away.

Good luck.
