Hello. I am a bit new to this discussion board, but I was hoping someone could either calm me or motivate me. I am dying to transfer to UIUC College of Business next year as a Junior to major in Accounting. I currently go to Elmhurst College which is a private liberal arts college. I am finishing up my math minor this year along with the business prerequisite classes. Here are my stats:
- 4.0 GPA (so far. hopefully I can keep it this semester, but will it make a difference if I get a B or two?)
- part of the Finance, Accounting, and Economics club
- part of the Honors Program
- part of Alpha Phi Omega (service fraternity)
- part of the Fellowship committee for APO
- play rugby for the college
- part of Habitat for Humanity (service organization)
- part time police officer for a nearby city (could maybe play a role in leadership qualities?)
I don’t know if they will ask for my high school stats, but my ACT was 29 and GPA was 3.89.
I’ve only taken one accounting course so far (financial accounting), but I will finish managerial accounting by the end of the year.
Can I please hear your thoughts? Should I be worried of getting in? I’ve heard the transfer rate is very low at the school. Be completely honest with your opinions also! I appreciate the help!!!
