I'm currently a freshman at Virginia Tech. I'm changing majors, so i'm transferring to an in-state school to save money (I live in North Carolina). If going to UNC, I'd hope to double major in English and Journalism. If NCSU, I'd major in English and minor in Journalism (seeing as they don't offer journalism as a major). NC State also seems to have more opportunities and more focused concentrations/routes within the English major. I understand that UNC is a better school, but that may not be worth it. All of my credits will transfer over to NC State, and more of my major classes for state i can take at my community college. Less than half of my first year credits will transfer to UNC and there are less that I will be able to take at community college to help catch up.
I really like both of the campus's and the atmospheres, but I don't know which would be the better choice. UNC will definitely require a year or more extra than NC State. (side information that I think is important- i love art and music, galleries and shows, anything of the sort. I will definitely be getting involved in a campus ministry) any insight?

If you are transferring to save money, then NCSU looks like the better financial choice for your situation.
