What are the average GPA for out of state transfers. I plan to complete 60 units by the end of next fall, transfer for spring, right now i have a 3.3 if you count only my retake grade and a 2.4 if you count retake and originial grades (hopefully the count only retake). After this semester, if i do well, as i think i will since i am not working full time ne more and the classes are fairly easy, i think i can pull of a 3.63 counting only retake. Is that high enough, i will still have 25 more units to go after this spring for my safety which is either ucsd for instate or u of iowa.

My first choice school was Wisconsin, but they count retake and original grades and they want me to have a 3.3 which means i need to get straight A's though the end of next fall. Usc does that as well and since i would want to go to marshall school of business and there entrance GPA is around 3.7 i am out of luck. It would be much appreciated if you guys give me some other choices, i am looking into finance.

My main schools so far are U of Iowa (3.5gpa and higher gets into honors and good chance at special finance program with 100% entrance for all graduates places into finance fields) Cheapest school as well, only a few thousand more than if i went to a UC with on campus housing
Illionois urbana/champaign
Wisconsin
Purdue
Uconn

Possibly ucla if i do get all A's becaues that would give me a GPA of 3.8 but that means i have one whole semester of doing nothing. I can get all A's in everything but math, only subject hard to me, so far i have 13 units, 2 retakes, all completed units are A or B's, and a lot a lot of W's (like 8 or 9), but a work full time, schedule isnt always as i plane

To get into the UVA undergraduate school (Mcintire) as an OOS, you'll need to maintain a GPA close to a 4.0.

As far as the Arts and Sciences school is considered, to be a competitive applicant you need higher than a 3.4 - the minimum to be seriously considered as stated recently to me by the Transfer Dean at UVA.

He has a list of schools he is interested in including Brown, University of Chicago, NYU, Fordham, Georgetown, UC Berkeley, Boston University, and some safety schools.

In your case no, you apply for admission to the comm school at the end of your 3rd semester and find out at the end of your fourth. So people applying at the for admission as sophomore transfers apply to UVa and would apply to the comm school along with everyone else. However, you would be past the point of applying with everyone else so you would apply directly to the comm school.

yes i have failed two classes and i have retaken one and got an A and the other i will be retaking and should get an A, i had an A but due to missing so many classes my lab was an automatic F and i wasnt allowed to take final, so i got an F. I know that UC schools wont count the original failing grade, they will see it but wont count it in finding your GPA which is benificial to me becuase of my retakes, but i dont think i could get into ucla or ucb, so i am looking for other schools i could possibly get into, uva i know was a long shot, but no harm in finding out

how bought if i was to apply to major for economics, would i have a shot at uva . I think UNC the average is around a 3.6-3.7 but i dont know if that would apply to me since i would have to declare my major and apply to a specific school

after your second year, you can transfer in to UVA's Comm School.....if you're coming in as a 2nd year, you can finish off Comm reqs and transfer in from the College......but yeah....you'll need a 3.9+/-.1 GPA to get in to McIntire......as for the College....you'll needa get those transfer reqs done if you're planning to get in as a 3rd year...and you'll need good grades...transferrings pretty competetive, especially for out of staters...transfer students still get in-state priority, especially from community colleges......

no my transcript shows the gpa calculated with only my retake, so my F is not included only shown, it shows a 2.7 (that includes 1 F though, i am making up bio this summer) and should show a 3.3 after this semester. If everything goes well, by next fall, it could read a 3.78

im taking this semester
psyc 1 - already finished half the work with A (winter online class)
soc 2 - same as above (winter online class)
oceanography - easy A
modern art history - easy A
english 1c - i know the teacher and she loves my writing, a 40 page journal makes up your entire grade, easy A
macroecon - right now i could fairly easily pass series 7 and 66 exam to become a broker, micro i went to only 3 classes and got a 88, so i think if i go to all i should be fine
pre calc- not the greatest at math, got a B in this in high school without studyin or homework so i think if i work i may be able to get an A, heard teacher is excellent and works hard with students to achieve and understand what they want/material

so i am guessing a 3.3 after spring and 3.7 after retaking bio (taking same teacher as i had before, tests he said will be the same as now, same with hw and lab, in which i got all A's, final is made of questions from tests in which i have all the questions from the tests written down already from study sessions)
then i will be taking financial accounting, class i heard is easy, but lots and lots of material and homework.

I just want to know what is the best school i could get into besides the schools i listed in my first post. How highyl do schools look upon when you grades take a sharp turn for the better?

well i figured i had no chances, being blunt is perfectly fine as i already realized that i had almost no possibility, thats why most of colleges listed are those with around a 3-3.3GPA range. Just wondered if i could get into any better colleges than say Wisconsin

well i figured i had no chances, being blunt is perfectly fine as i already realized that i had almost no possibility, thats why most of colleges listed are those with around a 3-3.3GPA range. Just wondered if i could get into any better colleges than say Wisconsin, possibly ucla maybe

i have 2 F's i work full time with lots of overtime, in the period of one year, i ran 2 home run businesses, i lived financially on my own, work had to come first or else i would be on the street, one F has been made up and is now an A. Yes, ucla will see my two classes as F, but they will also see that i made them up with an A, have an explanation and only that A will be caluclated into the GPA. Wisconsin admissions know about my F, i have already applied and been rejected, but that is becuase i had 10 units with a 2.1 GPA, it is now about to be a 2.4 and a 3.0 wisconsin GPA by the end of fall. I already know i will be admitted, the same admissions officer will be reviewing my subsequent application and if i get my 3.0-3.3 by the time my one yr application period ends and i take the classes recommended, i will most probably admitted, so i have till the end of next fall and if i do well my gpa could rise to a 3.4. UCLA, my GPA after this semester will be a 3.4 for UC's because my F will be made up and i would still need 24 more units to transfer leaving me time in the summer and fall to bring up my grades to the 3.7-3.8. Illinois, i dont know there policies about retakes, i just now you need 60 units meaning i can apply at earliest for next spring, so i have time, but i know average for business is same as wisconsin.

Its not like i just got F's bcuz i didnt understand, i got an F in computer science and bio, these arent core classes for me, and i was working sometimes up to 60 hrs a week to support myself and my apartment, there are circumstances for my grades

If i dont get in back ups are ucsd and u iowa which are auto admits for me and fairly good at econ for sd and iowa with a special finance placement program for seleceted students with 3.5 or higher
