Hi. I have been waitlisted at U of M for engineering and I know that the waitlist there is pathetic, so it will basically turn out to be a rejection. I will be attending University of Wisconsin at Madison for electrical engineering and I plan to transfer after the first year. I will be getting around 10-12 IB credits.

I was wondering that if it's normal to transfer after the first year (the lesser time I spend at Wisco, the more time I spend at UMich). What criteria do they use for Transfers? Do they look at High School GPA and ACT scores? Or just the freshmen college GPA? Is there any minimum credit requirement to be able to transfer? Is it hard to transfer into UMich engineering? People tell me that if I get above 3.8+ freshmen year, I can get into UMich easily.

UMich is my dream school and has been for 14 years, could you please help me regarding this Transfer issue? I will be entering Wisco in Fall 2014, and plan to go to UMich by fall of 2015.
