Transfer to UPenn

I'm wondering what my chances are of getting into UPenn as a sophomore transfer..

High school GPA: 3.4 UW, 3. 7 W
ACT: 31
Member of student council, national honor society, dance team

CCC: 3.7
At the University of Miami
Member of operation smile, marketing club,

My dad, grandmother, and great grandfather all attended. I applied as a freshmen as a long-shot and did not get in.

-I also worked at a retirement home for 1.5 years
-As a receptionist at a salon and a waitress at a small restaurant for 1.5 years

 • I then worked at a daycare and nannied on the side for another year

I applied as a transfer last year (just as you are considering) and was accepted. It has been the best decision that I have ever made and I wanted to share some advice.

Be sure that your application explains exactly why “Penn is the best and only option for you” – really think this out and prove that Penn is where you want to go. I applied to a major that Penn isn’t particularly well known for yet, but is the only one like it in the country. I believe that is what helped me to get in! Good luck!

I think you have a good chance! Write a good essay and continue to work hard in your classes.

The most important thing is to tell Penn why this is the ONLY school for you.

Essays make it or break it!

I’ve got a couple of friends who transferred to Penn and I can deffinitely say that the ‘ONLY’ part if kind of overrated. Because Penn cannot possibly be the ONLY school, if you think about it. Just make sure that it looks like Penn is one of the transfer possibilities bacause of x, y, z.

anyone knows when will the transfer decision come out…?
same waiting here…

based on previous years id say decisions will start coming out on may 14th and then on a rolling basis after that.
