Transfer to UPenn

I am a Cornell student, and um…am not in love w. cornell, my hs stats were very good…97 GPA, 1450 SAT, 740/750/740 SAT IIs, accepted to Chicago, NW, Cornell, and Duke.

I WANT PENN.

anyone, 42 responses, plz???????

It seems like the only thing missing from your formula is a hefty list of ECs...what did you do in high school and Cornell?

dude....my Ecs were pretty dam good, varsity tennis captain, violin, and i am a presidential research scholar at cornell and a dean scholar

Then you should damn well apply and become a Quaker!

see, i WANT TO BE A QUAKER, but idk if i can get in???

try and find out...PENN is the ****...I just transferred here

-PENN '08

what is your cornell gpa?

why are you trying to transfer?- if you dont mind me asking

b/c no me gusta cornell (i do not like it, the ppl are just mad weird here, the location sucks, and i am an unhappy paying 45,000 when i am unhappy.

My cornell GPA, well, its undetermined, as I only have been here for a month or so.

newyorkcity2012: how did you find the trasnfer process to Penn, and what was your GPA?

Honestly B-ball why do you think you'll like Penn so much more than Cornell? I transferred Ivies too, but mine were on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

b/c Cornell is seriously the polar opposite of what I want, in the middle of no where, the kids just want to get drunk out of their mind, kids do work on friday nights, the whole thing just bothers me, and the workload here is insane, and pre-med here is outta control. I definetely made the wrong choice coming here. NW, Duke, or Rice would have been better.

slipper, can u send me ur aim, so i can talk to u there?

Sure, its getrickyj

I agree with what you are talking about with Cornell. People on this board rip me all the time for recommending Brown, Dartmouth, Duke, Penn etc over it. Honestly, overall I seriously think those are better choices.

Slipper knows more than I do about Dartmouth (and likes it more) but I can certainly remind you that Dartmouth is also in the middle of nowhere.

Penn has Philadelphia, and with its central location along the Northeast Corridor, has excellent access to NYC and DC by car, bus, or train.

I can say that most Penn kids don't do work on Friday nights (heck most don't do work on Thursday nights either).

You give me you your spot at Cornell, and I won't apply as a transfer to UPenn :). Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work that way.

yeah. you bet penn kids don't do work on friday nights.

I have just verified that no Penn kid was doing homework this Friday night...or at least not many of them

neither do the Cornell kids who get drunk from Thursday to Saturday, but he doesn't like us either
