Transfer to USC or Duke from UCLA

<p>Can get decent recs and write a good essay.</p>

<p>Very interested in transfering out of UCLA, to USC or Duke (or other schools).
Transfering because of discrimination and not being able to fit in.</p>

<p>Honestly I don't know the answer regarding your chances. However, just using common sense....</p>

<p>1) why would a school take a transfer whose stats are in the bottom quartile of the students of the incoming freshman class?</p>

<p>2) why would an equally or higher ranked school take a transfer whose GPA is not top 5-10% at the current university?</p>

<p>Off topic, but I've learned over time (I am <em>much</em> older than you) that is is better to finish up in a non-optimal environment than to cut and run. It builds character and forces you to learn creative ways of working around whatever the problem is. Character is what employers look for most in applicants just after directly correlatable experience.</p>
