Transfer to UVA business?

I currently attend a solid upper tier liberal arts college and was recently accepted into Darden business school as a junior transfer. I have a 4.0 in business and economics and play baseball at my current school. I am looking for advice on whether or not transferring will significantly improve my job opportunities out of college and eventually my chances of getting into an elite graduate school. I know Darden is a much better school but I'm not sure if it's worth starting all over and losing my GPA and current connections. I have also heard college athletics look very good on a resume and I'm curious if losing that will be worth the upgrade academically. I need to make a decision soon so anything will help!

I think you mean the undergraduate McIntire School of Commerce. Darden is the graduate business school of UVA. Try talking to your current school’s advisers about what companies recruit there. Depending on what type of job you’re planning to go into, most companies recruit at multiple top tier universities so you shouldn’t worry about your prospects. If you’re happy at your current school and don’t want to lose your GPA I suggest staying at your current institution.

As long as you can maintain a high GPA and score well on the GMAT or GRE, your prospects of graduate school will be fine regardless of whether you choose to transfer or not. On the plus side, UVA’s McIntire school is very highly regarded and the brand name may help you get your foot in the door for some companies. The most important aspect that you should consider is will you enjoy your college experience more at your current institution or at UVA?
