im a freshman at villanova

3.4 high school GPA
2020 SAT Score

what are my chances

I applied to uva fall 2010 transfer as a freshman and ended up getting waitlisted.
I was instate and applied from a small liberal arts school.
here are my stats so you guys can compare and see where you stand:

HS GPA 3.7 (weighed; uw was 3.5 ish)
SAT 1950
First semester GPA 3.8

had a good amount of ec’s and wrote decent essays.

OP - I would say low, only because UVA accepts so few sophomore transfers. You will have a better chance if you continue to do well for another year, and try to transfer as a third year.

rcurnal - See above. Additionally, if you are OOS, it is going to be much more competitive.

Good luck to both of you, but keep in mind that it’s difficult for universities to see how you’re doing with only one semester of grades. Also, they are looking for transferable students - students who have completed all or most of their pre-requisites so that they may go straight into their major area of study. It’s nearly impossible to be anywhere close to that only having taken 5-6 classes.

Can you guys analyze my chances to transfer in as a sophmore as well?

3.78GPA HS with several AP’s
Lots of clubs and leadership positions

3.79GPA first semester at George Mason University Engineering School
Got invites from many honor societies, accepted the NSCS invitation

And in addition, most of my credits follow the general engineering curriculum at UVA

I took Calc 1, intro to engr, Chemistry, english 101, ENGR Graphics
& this semester…Calc 2, Physics, Micro Econ, Major World Regions, Intro to Electrial engr

Hello I am currently enrolled at a Community College in Virginia and I submitted my application to UVA (School of Nursing).
I will be graduating this May with my Associates.
Heres what its looking like for me.
GPA (College): 3.52.
GPA (High School): Yikes, 2.8.
Will graduate with 61 credits and all prereqs completed.
I am a non-traditional student (28 years old married to my hubby who is currently in the Comm school at UVA, and have a baby).
Phi Theta Kappa.
Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society).
Great Essays. One describing my high school performance and my come back in college.
Not so great SAT scores BUT its been over 5 years and the lady over the phone (admissions) said not to worry about SAT scores so much.
Going through my last semester with a pretty rigorous load (A&P 2, Microbiology, Ethics, Computer Information Course required by CC, and Pilates)
Last semester (A&P 1, Chemistry, Statistics, and Public Speaking) you get the idea…
HMMM, what else? volunteered at Boys and Girls Club, Dean’s List, President’s Honor Roll. Work experience with the airlines and traveling internationally (might not count but at least is accounts for the time I took off).

I would greatly appreciate your opinion,

Thank you

3.51 HS GPA
1810 SAT (Math 640; Writing 580; Reading 590)
3.7 GPA @ JMU
Currently a General Engineering Major applying to be an Electrical Engineering major.
Essays are well-written according to people that have read them.

Any idea of any chance I stand even though it sounds like it’s not good to transfer in as a sophomore?
