Hi All! I am currently enrolled in Chemical Engineering at Iowa State University as a freshman. It is my hope to be able to transfer to UW-Madison next year in the fall to either continue my degree as a chemical engineer or transfer into their biomedical engineering program (which is not available at Iowa State).
My goal for this semester is to make the Dean's list, which requires a GPA of atleast 3.5, but it is going to be a close call. Unfortunately, I am only taking a course load of 13 credits this semester, but I plan on taking 18-19 next semester and received 9 credits from AP courses in high school. This semester I rushed a fraternity, which has been a fantastic experience but definitely a huge time commitment, often conflicting with my normal study hours.
I graduated from a top high school with an unimpressive high school GPA. My ACT which includes the writing was a 29 composite with a 10 on the writing portion of the exam. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to average freshman GPAs or the difficulty that is associated to transferring to the UW-Madison college of engineering from Iowa State. I was hoping some of y'all would be able to enlighten me on my chances of admission depending on the GPA that I do end up receiving. Thanks in advance and good luck on all of your personal endeavors!
