Transfer UC to UC

I have a few questions,

First, I go to uc santa cruz and I'm wondering, what courses should I take to prepare me for a UC-UC transfer? Santa cruz has very limited options for engineering, and I'm thinking of transfering to UC Davis. Should I be taking more engineering related classes or focus on easy general EDS and get my GPA high up? I just finished my first quarter with a little over 3.5 GPA, and took 1 major requirement (introduction to computer science), 1 required for all freshman (some writing class) and a math (calc 19a).

Also, how would these classes/units transfer over? I'm very confused about this.

You need to complete all the Santa Cruz GE's in order to get the UC-UC reciprocity agreenment. Focus on the prerequisites for the major next.

I concur. I transferred from UCSC to Cal last year. finish your GE's in SC, while getting as many of your prereqs done for engin as possible. You also want to get a relatively high GPA.

Considering you're at UCSC, the GE's there will be easy and fun. so might as well finish them off there, and concentrate on upper divison classes for your major when you get to Davis.

Since you're interested in Davis, the quarter to quarter unit transfer will be easier, and classes will also transfer more easily. In order to see if the classes you took transfer, you have to contact the specific departments at davis. keep your syllabi and copies of course descriptions, b/c you'll need them for the advisors.

hey!!... I got a question about UC to Cal transfer, where quarter units transfer into semester units. Say I take about the same class in UCLA as in Berkeley, with same number of units but with different academic system (4-quarter-unit-class in UCLA wanting to transfer into a semester class in Cal with 4 units), how does the transfer work? If I summit the petition for credit, say EE 10 (4 units) in UCLA, and get approved, do I get credit for EECS 20N in Cal with 4 units or with 3 units, or with 2.66666667 to be exact?
