I heard before it's difficult to transfer to a four-year university when you already go to one and caltech is already difficult to get into. Would it be an unreasonable goal to try and transfer in my junior year? I'm a sophomore now at UC Santa Cruz and i'm earning a 4.0. But what else should I be doing to increase my chances?
Also, I'm a Biochem major.

cal tech has about a 14% transfer admit rate, which is higher than first year

i don’t think it’s true that it’s harder to transfer from four year to four year

it’s not an unreasonable goal, especially with a 4.0 in biochem

get involved, do research, get close with professors for good LORs, and write great essays and you look like a good candidate!

Thanks! I’ll have to work on getting closer to my professors I guess!
