Hi,i am planning on transferring to UVA for fall and i was wondering if i must achieve an amount of credit units to transfer. I am an out of state student.

OOS/IS status doesn’t matter outside of admissions decisions. In regards to credits, I don’t know if there is a set number you need, but I’d venture to say you should have matriculated at a different university and earned a semester’s worth of credits (~15). I’m not 100% sure on that 15 credit figure, it could be as low as 3 credits for all I know! You’re best bet is to contact admissions. I am nearly certain though that you cannot transfer more than 60 credits, and that at least 60 credits must be earned at UVA.

Keep in mind though that the fewer college level courses/credits you have when you apply to UVA, the greater your HS grades/SAT scores will be weighed during admissions.

Here is a link that may be useful to you. Please read through all of it and I am sure the answers to any of your questions will be found.

If you still need assistance there is also a blog page for transfer students that you may ask questions or you can contact the admissions office.
