Transfer vs. Freshman? Heeeeeeeeeeeelp Me out!!!

Hey guys:

I have a very unusual school life.......and now I can choose to stay in highschool for another year applying as a freshman or go to a University first applying as a transfer in my first year.

I did do some research and found out schools usually only take very a few transfer students each year. But I am just wondering if they will take the reputation of your previous school into consideration so that i can increase my chance provided I can keep up good grades , Ecs..SAT.etc...????

I am in Canada, and I will probabaly end up in UBC or Uof T if I do graduate this year?

so any idea what is better to do? really dunno......

any input is appreciated.!

explain me "I can choose to stay in high school for another year'!!!!!...i didn't get it...

Well, transfer is a very-very competitive one......better go for freshman.............n no,ur school's reputation does NOT counts at all in any case.......its only U n all things related to U that counts............i has nothing to do with ur personal friendship with Mr.Bush.........lol.........

yeah overall it's probably harder to get into transfer than freshman (though it's really quite subjective- given that there are few transfer applicants to any college every year, the difficulty of transfer admissions can vary from year to year). Plus financial aid is harder to get for international transfer applicants compared to freshmen.

But there are advantages to transfer as well. One is that if you aren't applying for fin. aid, credit transfer can help save you a lot of bucks. Transfer is a great option if you aren't over-concerned about the prestige/reputation of the college you are applying to. Also there is the fact that you will be gaining a year if you go in for transfer.

The choice is yours to make!

well, cuz I jumped one grade , i probably can choose stay for anothre year..

thanks you guys appreciate

well, first I guess I got to apply for fiin aid...
second.. I guess I am the kind of person who is really over-concerned about the prestige of the schools...........sounds stupid, but true for me...and not merely because reputation but I really love that school.. lol.......

and btw, does reputation of a school really have nothing to do with your chance? just for example, isnt the person who transfers from Harvard has a greater chance of getting accepted into Yale compared with the one from a less prestigious college? (I konw this is a stupid question!)

anyone else?
thanks...............really need help
