Hi,
I am currently a junior in high school, and I’ve essentially taken all of the highest classes at my school. I have two options for next year: I can stay in high school and have a relatively easy schedule the whole year, or I can graduate a semester early and take classes at a community college. I was just wondering if it would be easier to get into a good school by applying as a freshman or as a transfer student.
Thanks
Freshman admissions is a lot easier for most schools with the exception of some public universities for in-state residents. Just finish your year as a senior and relax with an easy schedule in the second semester.
If you are in need of financial aid for college, Freshman admits have a better chance for aid vs. transfers depending upon your target schools.
Also, can you not graduate early but take dual enrollment courses at your local CC which would give you the extra course rigor you might want if you are looking at applying to top schools?
You also have the option of graduating early, and then taking the spring semester off entirely. Think about that too. What kind of work and volunteer activities might be open for you if you chose to do that?
