<p>good luck itzedward! always hope man! i believe my friend got in with 3.1gpa last year! and i woke up and saw a new email notification on my phone. checked my email and it was from ucsd lol got the email the same day when i got accepted! no delay!

<p>My SIR just expired, I got the e-mail on Thursday. 
So I’m pretty sure they’ll be releasing more decisions tomorrow?? A friend into Biochem is still waiting with a 3.3 GPA. Only a few more days before all this uncertainty & waiting FINALLY ends for sure.</p>

How about you?? Did you SIR anywhere while waiting for SD?? & I just got an email from UCSD saying they’re extending the SIR deadline. This is in the e-mail I received…</p>

<p>@praewa: Hey can I ask why you chose Davis instead of SD? I was kind of in a similar situation (torn between Davis n SD) but when I couldn’t SIR successfully to SD yesterday I realized how badly I wanted to get in and finally SIR-ed today. Both schools seems awesome and its really hard throwing away Davis (I’m still SIR-ed to both though). I’m just curious about the reason for your decision :)</p>
<p>@adriecali, Hey. Well, I live in NorCal (about 2 hours away from Davis), I had a chance to visit before the SIR deadline was due. But, I have never visited UCSD because I didn’t think I would’ve gotten into the school from the waitlist. I chose Davis because it’s closer to home, I can visit more often than San Diego (probably 8-9 hours away from me). It has a pretty good program for my major & I like the area personally. I also think that UCSD’s science program might be too intense for me, I don’t want to have to stress out every single day. I want to enjoy my college experience too so that was why I chose Davis, it’s a great school too Whats your major?</p>
<p>Not saying Davis classes are easier in any ways! It’s challenging at both, I know!. And to add, Davis offers options in either Pharmaceutical Chem or Environmental Chem, which I’m interested in. :)</p>

<p>@praewa: ohh I understand I was also kind of worried about SD’s academic rigor… my major is economics in Davis and Intl studies-Econ in SD 
Not 100 percent sure which is best but I’m leaning towards SD though right now. Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to visit either of the schools (due to cost issues) so I can’t decide from that. I’m happy that you are very sure about your decision though! I am also from NoCal btw! but my home is not in the states so the distance-from-home-issue is not really a problem for me. </p>
