transfer

what kind of gpa do I need to transfer to schools like Cornell, Columbia, or UPenn? I am currently a freshman at U of M from NY. What other things are weighted in the decision besides my gpa?

The average transfer has a 3.8 GPA for those colleges. Aim for a 3.9+

but what if your college has harsh grading curves/ grade deflation and a 3.5 is considered really good at your school? do the transfer adcoms put the difficulty of your college into consideration?

I need a 3.8 even though I am at Michigan?

Where are you getting the info. regarding average transfer gpas? I'm curious to know what the averages are for the schools I want to apply to..

I can only find info that pertains to undergrad first year admissions..

I was just posting what I've heard from other posts on this message board. I could be wrong. I'm also not sure about how much difficulty of college you are transferring from is looked at, but I think admissions would take that into account.

average GPA for Upenn transfers is a 3.7

he he, i am at a school where 85%+ is considered an A he he.
hopefully that won't become a disadvange
