Transfer?!??!?

m planning on transferring from Catholic University in DC next fall. I am only a freshman now. I know I'm going to get comments (if I get any at all) that say "you don't know if you don't like it yet" "keep an open mind" etc. But, I know I want something different for many different reasons. I know it is easier to transfer after your sophomore year but I really don't want to be at CUA for longer than a year. I genuinely know this is not the place for me.

I had a 4.0W GPA in hs
28 ACT (that I can retake if need be)

I'm a Media Studies major here

The classes I'm taking are:

English 101
Philosophy 101
Media Studies 101
French 112
Sociology 101

Next semester my classes will probably be something like:
Require freshman seminar courses (2 classes)
Media and Rhetoric
French 201
Economics 100
Human Evolution (science course)

I'm involved in:
CUA Ballet Company
Notetaker for people with disabilities
Getting a campus job

I'm seriously considering getting an internship in DC next semester if I can find one.

Right now I'm doing really well in my courses. I have a strong work ethic and Im trying extra hard here. If I don't have straight A's this semester I'll be pretty close.

Im looking at (in order of interest):
UVA
U of Richmond (wait listed senior year)
University of Florida (in-state) (they might only accept incoming juniors though)
Washington and Lee
UNC-CH
Florida State (in-state) (accepted senior year)
Auburn (accepted senior year)

Sorry this is super long! Any chance that I will be able to transfer at the end of the year?

Wait until you actually get your first semester grades before asking this question because that does matter a lot. With your high school record, UVA and UNC are both looking pretty tough for you. Even getting a 4.0 your first semester will probably not be enough because the only people that get accepted there as sophomore transfers are borderline people who just barely missed the cut or people who made it as freshman. I think you have a realistic shot at all your other targets though.

I’m just wondering, if you know that your current college isn’t for you, why did you go there instead of Auburn or FSU in the first place?
