Transfer?

Does anyone have any experience as a transfer to Villanova? I'm a freshman at Fairfield University right now (received alot of money) and I know I could be at a much better school, academically. I am looking to transfer for the fall is 2012. I read somewhere that housing is tough. I wouldn't mind that I just hope it would still be easy to make friends. If you can tell me how I look that would be great.

Stats:
College GPA: around 3.6-3.7
HS GPA: 4.37 weighted, 3.71 unweighted
SAT: 1940 (710 math, 650 writing, 580 critical reading)
Ranked 4/103
Accepted to the US Naval Academy
Boys State, HOBY
12 Varsity Letters, captain of soccer, basketball, and tennis
National Honors Society
Peer tutor and mentor
Youth group leader
Altar Server
Brother, two cousins, and aunt and uncle graduated from here

You look like a strong applicant , transfers into A&S in easier than VSB or Engineering.
Transfers are dependent on estimates of students attrition and transfer yield rates. Based on the freshman retention rate of 95% , there are about 80-100 sophomore spots available.

Common Data set figures for 2010 transfer applicants:
Applicants 733
Applicants Admitted 257
Applicants Enrolled 120

Transfers get last shot at housing , and most end up living at Kaul Hall at Rosemont College about 2 miles away.
Look at this thread for further discussion on transfers and housing.

I am currently a sophomore and I transfered to Nova’ for the Fall of 2011. So far I am
loving the school.

The classes a great, the school pride is unbelievable and the people are amazing.

From a transfer’s perspective here are a couple of things to keep in mind: If you plan on applying for financial aid, there is a good chance that they may not provide you with any financial assistance for your first year here.

Also as far as housing goes, a good amount of transfers received on campus housing this year. While a few did have to live over at Kaul hall on Rosemont’s Campus, many have since moved over here.

As far as meeting people I would say to get involved as much as possible.

btw your ressume looks strong! good luck!
