I'm a freshman at uc riverside and I'm planning on transfering to another uc junior year. My current GPA is about 2.0 and by next year I should be able to bring it up to at least a 3.0. I'm involved in two ethnic clubs and an alumni association. What are my chances of getting into UCSB? I'm also applying to UCI, UCB, and UCLA (I doubt I'll be accepted in the latter two though).

Assuming you meet the course requirements for acceptance into the UC, if you can get a 3.0 cumulative you will probably be admitted. Bear in mind though that if you have coursework at 2.0 right now you'll need to do an equal amount of coursework at 4.0 to average it out to 3. You'll really need to work on your grades if you hope to be admitted, and I would be very surprised, unfortunately, if you were admitted to either LA or B.
