I'm really interested in transferring to Uchicago for my sophomore year of undergrad. Anyone have any advice/know of anyone that has been accepted to Uchicago as a transfer? Do they take as few transfers as all the Ivies/other top tier schools? Anything particular that admissions counselors look for in transfers? Thanks in advance!

The class of 2016 is over-enrolled, so transferring is going to be much more difficult next year, if not impossible.

Chicago’s transfer rate was probably below 2% this year, so a transfer application is not likely to yield results. For an easier transfer environment at peer schools, look at Penn, Brown, Cornell, and Columbia - all accept a decent number of transfers (though you better have very deep pockets - Brown at least is need aware for transfer students).
