<p>I was wondering my transfer chances for a film/television major at NYU. Im currently part of a fairly competitive broadcasting department of Montclair State University. (200 apply and only 30 are accepted)</p>

<p>University Stats:
3.2 GPA
A great number of extra cirrucular activities (many of them pertaining to film/telvision)</p>

<p>HS Stats:
3.2 GPA
A few extra curricular activities (formed the film club and orginized the first student film festivle)
1120 SAT</p>

<p>The letter of recomendation is going to be written by a member of the broadcasting department, who is a alum of NYU. The film for the portfolio is also fairly decent with emphasis placed on the plot, rather then aesthetics.</p>

<p>i'm pretty sure your gpa is not high enough</p>

<p>nyu is a big reach. grades aren't high enough.</p>

<p>you should stay for a year and transfer as a junior, boost that gpa to like higher than 3.6 and i think you might have a shot</p>
