would it be for me to transfer into Gtown. I'm still a HS senior and next year I'll probably go to Syracuse or Albany because my parents want me to stay closer to home for a year. What grade would I need to pull to transfer to Gtown after one year or is it pretty much impossible? Thanks.

I am a Gtown alumnus who transferred to the hill top after my freshman year, so I may be able to give you a bit of advice. As much as you may, or may not, like to hear this, I believe (although I could be wrong) that your chances of admission still depend somewhat substantially upon your high school performance. With that said, I believe there is much opportunity to be had in your freshman year of college. My advice to you would be to get the best grades you can, nothing else will suffice for both your personal satisfaction and the admissions office. However, what is also important (and something I overlooked and therefore got accepted only after an arduous deferral) is that you get involved in your freshman year. In my opinion, you dont have to be ridiculous, but show them that as a first year undergraduate you are not only able to handle the responsibility of classes and newly found independence, but also that of a club or sports team. My general impression is that most people that apply to Gtown as a transfer have good grades, so you need to stand out.
But dont be discouraged by any means. I cant quantitatively reassure you, but I do believe that Georgetown admits many transfer students (my transfer class was quite large), so there is def. space to accommodate.
Also, I feel I should tell you (for what it is worth) that you should not myopically focus on Georgetown. I loved it and hope you are accepted, but you need to be sure to enjoy college both for the social growth and academic challenge that it will present, wherever it is that you end up.
