I am assuming that my letters of recc will be average. Upon re-reading my common app essay, I realize it's rather...weak. All I mentioned was wanting to do research and taking diverse and more specialized classes with new faculty members. But I did mention the reason for the low GPA (emotional issues, which I ended up getting the proper treatment for) and wrote that my overall aim is to attend an undergraduate institution that will give me more opportunities for academic pursuits for entering graduate school.
Btw, I'm a liberal arts major.

I am applying as a junior transfer to Smith College, UNC Chapel Hill, Pepperdine, Lehigh, Santa Clara, and Pomona.
I guess I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but it's always nice to get other's insights and perspectives! (What I really dislike about the whole college admissions process is that they don't tell you specifically why you didn't get in--or conversely, why you did get in. Hence the reason I'm posting here: to get more insight). Thanks!
