June 11 in College Search & Selection
I'm currently attending palm beach state college and finishing up my aa degree. I currently have about 45 credits with a 3.5 GPA. Will I get
accepted to fsu criminal justice program which is non limited access. I'm also apart of phi theta kappa which is a honors organization at my school. Can you guys please let me know my chances of getting admitted ?

I can only tell you that those awarded with an AA degrees within the state of FL and have above a 3.0 will automatically get accepted to FSU w any major as long as it is not a Limited Access major.
If you’re a just a basic college transfer, w/out an AA…I have no idea if you’d be accepted as easily as a AA awarded transfer would.

Thanks !

You should be fine. As long as you have a 3.0 and your AA, you’re generally fine for transferring. Mostly, the big concern comes down to whether you’re “on track” for your major. For most majors being “on track” through 60 credits means just taking your gen ed classes. I would make sure though just in case.

This isn’t true. The only guaranteed transfers that FSU offers is via the TCC2FSU program, and even then the details of the program are still rather sketchy as to what is required for you to actually be guaranteed to transfer.

We’ll I heard if your transfering with an AA degree you get priority…

You’ll be fine. I’m transferring in this fall with an AA, and changed my major from psychology to criminology without any problem. :)

Thanks Lexi ! Are u living on campus or dorms ?

I’m trying to figure that out now. I called the Housing Department and it’s saying they are full, so… guess I’m living on the streets?

Lexi we had a similar problem. Try Southgate they are private dorms.

Unfortunately, Housing is not known for being the best at informing people of things.

The only real advice I can offer is that FSU Housing does have an Off-Campus Housing Search site: http://offcampushousing.fsu.edu/

Depending on where you want to live (I’m guessing close to campus), there are a lot of different options. If Housing is truly full, you may want to begin calling around to apartment complexes you can find and start asking them if they have anything available.

Thank you pasbal. I already started looking at that website. I’ll also call Housing one more time tomorrow and stress the fact that I’m a transfer and see if there is any wiggle room, even on the waiting list. Even if the apartments are close to campus, wouldn’t it still be a rather long to and from class? I don’t have a car and don’t know how far the busses go.

Laura, do you have a link? Never heard of Southgate

Hey Lexi when did you apply ? Like I’m receiving my AA in the spring and I was thinking of applying like December . Is that ok ?

Willie if you are wanting Spring term you need to apply before Nov. 1st.

I’m thinking of applying for summer .
