Hey I'm planning to transfer to Tulane or Loyola New Orleans. I have a few question reguarding how NOLA looks almost a year after the hurricane? Also, how are the jobs in NOLA? Is the public transportation working? How is the nightlife (restaurants, clubs, etc..) Finally, about how many students in both Tulane and Loyola returned in the Spring? I really want to go to either school, but I'm taken back from what i still see in the news.

I'll answer two
-The area around Loyola and TU has completely normalized. People are out, and you can't tell that a hurrincan devasted the area just seven months ago. This was hard for me to believe when Tulane kept nailing me with e-mails about how the area is as beautiful as ever, but trust me I went to NOLA a week ago and its definitely true. However, 30 min to the east and you start seeing the stuff that you see on TV (9th ward, etc.)
-Buses are running in place of st. charles streetcar line , which is due to be opened again in 2007 (this is the line you take from Tulane to downtown). The other line, i forget what its called, is back up and running

Wow that's great news! How are the jobs in NOLA at this point? Is downtown business running? One of my main concerns is finding a job.

Almost every other business that's open in New Orleans is looking to hire since many of the city's old residents have not yet returned. And they're paying extra to get the help. :)
