Transfer?

So it's three days after cards have been handed in, and I'm already convinced I made the wrong choice. (I turned down MIT for Princeton) I feel terrible, like I just passed up an amazing opportunity, and I've kind of been beating myself up for not taking it =( So.. I feel bad talking about this before I've even gotten to college, but I was wondering about transfer. I know you have to at least complete your freshman year first, so does that mean you can only apply after sophomore year? And where is the lost credit usually "lost" from?

First, let me say that having buyer's remorse is perfectly normal after making a big decision, and it's entirely likely that you'll love Princeton and feel totally different at this time next year. :)

As I read the requirements, you have to have completed at least two semesters before you apply, so yes, you can apply after sophomore or junior year.

Credit is lost from classes that don't transfer (as I'm sure you realize); I'm not sure if there are typical classes that don't transfer. Some departments tend to be stingier about allowing students to take courses at schools other than MIT, and perhaps that's the root of the problem.

You could try making some phone calls to both schools and see if you can change your mind

It's May 4th. I'm sure you can change your choice right now. Princeton doesn't want a kid who wants to leave, and MIT would love to have an enthusiac one.
