Transfer

I am hoping to transfer to the art school at Wash U for fall 2007. What does Wash U require from transfer students? Any Suggestions/ Advice?

Hi there, I'm transferring into WUSTL CAS this fall. I found this link on WUSTL's website, you might find it informative. I think the big thing for people applying to the Art school is the portfolio, which is mentioned under "Transfer Instructions." Here is the link http://admissions.wustl.edu/admissions/ua.nsf/3rd%20Level%20Pages_Applications_Transfer_transfer.htm?OpenPage&charset=iso-8859-1

Thanks, Where did you transfer from? What was your major?

I transferred from Western Illinois University. There I was a Geography major, but since WashU doesn't offer that, I went with Anthropology.

Do you know if Wash U gives any scholarships for transfer Students? Are you getting any aid?

Yeah, they do, but you have to be from two year colleges.

According to official policy, there are only scholarships for transfers who are from St. Louis Comm. Colleges and members of an honor society at community colleges. However, I believe there was someone on CC who applied to WashU as a transfer and said they received a scholarship. I'm not sure what their particular situation was. As for me, I am only receiving a loan, as my parents make "too much money."

Uch, I am afraid that they are just going to give me a loan too, if I transfer. I just want real money for them to give me-that I will not have to pay back!

Are test scores from High school just as important for transfers as they are for freshmen, or is it more about the grades?

My personal opinion is that it depends on your year in college when transferring. I think that if you're transferring after your sophomore year that admissions will look more at your college grades than HS stats. However, if you're transferring after your freshman year I think they take into account your HS stats more, especially if you've only had one semester of college work.

Kjanebarnum- What will you be entering Washu as? Soph/Junior? What kind of stats did you have?

I'll be entering as a junior. I had a 3.75 in HS with a 30 on the ACT and a 4.0 in college when I applied.
