hey
did anyone here get into cornell with this guaranteed transfer option?
thanks

yes, i'm a guaranteed transfer for this spring. ^^

u applied for the spring and got accepted?
if so, congrats!
which school at cornell?

school of hotel administration. i'm a first year at UVA so i'll still be a first year at cornell ^^ what about you?

so u are transfering after 1 year?
did you have to write a letter/essay or something?

Krn........welcome hotlie.....my son is a First year in the program and loves it. are you from VA? there is a great charter bus service from Cornell to BEthesda MD for breaks. Welcome aboard

cool Im a spring transfer too! is anyone else living in the transfer center?

collegeboy, you have a guaranteed transfer?

it was called a preferred transfer, i think a garanteed transfer is in a year

collegeboy, for which college/major?
your transfering after a year and a semester?
why are you gonna live in the transfer center?

i got housing in sheldon. i was gonna do the transfer center but decided not to.

why did u decide not to go to transfer center? what changed ur mind?
whats so good about sheldon?

haha i have no idea. i thought that the transfer center would help me meet more friends. when i applied for housing, they assigned me to sheldon since that was the only available space they had at that time.

im a guaranteed transfer to ilr for the fall of '07.. is anyone else?? I've heard rumors of the transfer center closing next year. Any suggestions on where to stay?

Hey I’m also ILR GT!!!!!! It seems the transfer center will be moved to the Hasbrouck apartments…

cornell doesnt guarantee housing all 4 years.. so transfers will deff get housing?
how are the hasbrouck apts?
its better for transfers to live in the transfer center?

GT’s are guaranteed housing…but as to where they’ll be placed is the question! I hear that the transfer center is fairly popular so I’m not sure how that’ll play out…as far as choosing the transfer center; it’s all a matter of choice…for me, I feel that the transfer center is a good place to start since there are other people who are in the same position as u are!

in the same position.. as in they dont know much about cornell.. i feel its better to live with people whove been at cornell already and can help you around since they have experience...

True…my preference might come across as a “blind lead the blind” situation, but I have good reason…its all a matter of human instinct…people tend to group and connect well when there is a common ground, you could say coherence is greater…therefore this coherence makes up for a much needed sense of belonging which then results into a better overall experience....hahah JK;) I think I’ll be fine if I don’t get into the transfer center…I guess it just seems like a cool place…from what I have learned so far…http://housing.cornell.edu/housing_residential/transfer_center.asp
