Transfer

I was excepted for admissions to Tulane in 06 but declined after hearing numerous warnings from family members who lived in New Orleans on the state of the city. After visiting NO I'm once again interested in Tulane. My only worry is that I failed a class my first year, but other than that my G.P.A is 3.55 and my act was a 27. Will that hurt my chances?

yes it will definitely hurt if you failed a class…

With a 3.55 you are most likely in. Tualne is a match, with its 82 percent transfer acceptance rate. I would consider adding an ultra-safety school if you are too worried

According to US News, Tulane’s transfer acceptance rate was 36% for 2006. Yes, it may have been higher for 2007 as the school continues to rebuild. But, expecting an (unverified) 82% acceptance rate in the future would be foolish.

no kidding, from what i heard for 2007 tulane’s transfer rate was 21% which is merely 1 out of 5 students.

Yes, failing a class will hurt. We do take a holistic approach to reviewing applications. There is also no fee to apply.
