Anyone know what type of stats CMU wants from transfer applicants?
I am currently a freshmen and poli sci major (probably double major in history or english), and am from PGH.
I don't have great stats, 2040 SAT (took once, didn't study), 3.8 hs GPA, varsity soccer, NHS, student gov, bunch of community service nothing outstanding.
Currently in 2 clubs at my school, plus a varsity sport, and will join mock trial and debate when my season ends. Probably get around a 3.6 or 3.7 at the end of the year.
What should I do to make up for my low test scores and HS record?
Thanks

transferring is way easier than freshman admissions, i’d say you’ll get in, espescially if youre applying to hss.

The transfer rate into CMU is low, around 13% so I’m not sure about that ^^^. It would be easier to transfer into H+SS than other CMU schools though.

I think you’re on a good path for transfer…get the best grades you can, be active (you seem to be), get to know a prof or 2 to get meaningful recommendations.

If you want to get back to Pgh, for English/history you might also consider UPitt. You might be eligible for their honors program.
