Okay i'm currently a Freshman at Rutgers U, my plan is to eventually attend U Mich and so I look at the transfer rates and saw that it was pretty high, would any of you advise transferring in? And if so what year should I transfer?

I plan to attend the School of Engineering. That's what I'm going at Rutgers.

I meant like the stats show that 70% of the people who apply for transfers get accepted but does anyone have any specifics? like what you need to get it?

Transfer students typically have a GPA over a 3.0 to be considered. Since you are applying to the College of Engineering, I would assume that they would have higher standards. Average SAT score for engineering is a 2040(31 ACT). Average GPA for engineering students is a 3.9 GPA(High School). U-M is self selective so don’t look at the acceptance rates per say. I would assume that a competitive student applying to the college of engineering should have over a 3.5 UW GPA.

I don’t believe 70% of transfers are accepted. It actually should be around 25-35. Which is totally different. Where did you get that information? But yes, i do advise transferring. Umich engineering is at a totally different level than Rutgers [US News 2007 #6 vs #48 dont know numbers for 2008]. For engineering, you also need to fulfill a number of prereqs listed on the following site:
[Michigan Engineering | External Domestic Students](http://www.engin.umich.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transfer/external/)
after that, I would try transferring as much as i can [before junior year].
