Hi, I'm 23 and just completed my first semester in a Community College. I graduated in 2005 from High School, I don't have great H.S grades, and ACT was not great at all. What would be my options to transfer to a top school within two years, and is it even possible due to my age and poor HS grades and ACT score.

With a transfer they will look more at your college record than your HS grades. As for top schools depends on what your GPA is and where you want to go.

My dream school has always been the University of Chicago and I know that the are highly selective. Just finished my first semester at a CC. What would be the best road to follow so that I am able to transfer to U of C?

You sound a lot like some other posters who did poorly in HS and want to go to a top school.

That is why I am asking and trying to find information.

Whats your CC GPA?
Although your hs stats are totally irrelevant at this point, especially being 5 years out of school, what did you make on your ACT?

My CC GPA is 3.75 and my ACT score was 18, I am going to take SAT this fall.

If you can get a solid SAT to match the GPA you will be golden.

^Yeah, you need to either retake the ACT or take the SAT and get a decent score. Your GPA alone will not be enough, having said that, I would not worry about anything else hs related.

If you score like an 1800, you wouldn’t need to retake. From there, you can focus on your essay.
