I'm currently a senior who graduated last Wednesday. My high school grades are really bad and so is my SAT score. To break it down for you guys, my SAT is a 1600/2400 and my high school grades are from a C- avg (freshmen year) to C avg (sophmore year) to a B avg (Junior Year). My grades are going up on an upward trend, except my grades dropped my senior year. My senior math grade went from a B- during my junior year to a C. My eng grade went from an A- to an B-/B. My history grade went from a B+ to a B-. The other grades stayed the same or went up. I'm looking to transfer next year into a top 50 college. I wanted to know how bad my chances are especially with these senior grades? Will i still have hope if I did really good during my first year of college?

“My grades are going up on an upward trend, except my grades dropped my senior year.”

What do you mean by upward trend if your grades have gone down your senior year? How can you guarantee they’ll continue going up as you enter your first year of college?

Anyways, you’re welcome to join us in this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1337385-class-2016-members-who-want-transfer.html

I suggest retaking your SAT’s. And feel free to join our thread.

The question is really “if I did really good my first semester of college”, because when you apply you will have only completed 1 semester of college coursework. By the time decisions are made, colleges will have, at most, an unofficial progress report for your second semester.

With such a short college record, your HS record and test scores have more weight.

Yes, I’m aware of that. I’m currently taking college classes and is getting really good grade, B+ average. So, I’m confident about next year.
