I know that you start on a new gpa when you transfer, but is the one from your first school completely disregarded? How does that work?

it depends on the school you transfer to.

for me, i'm transferring to a UC, so they keep my units but disregard the GPA. so i start at a 0.00 or 4.0 whichever way you'd like to look at it.

so if i f*** up my first semester there, i'll have a hard time bringing that up, and i'm doomed pretty much. if i do well my first semester there, let's say As... i'll have a 4.0 even though my GPA at my previous institution wasnt that great.

wow, i never knew they reset you gpa. good info. By the way, what happenn to my gabe needs to get laid thread. LOL

Also, as many of us already know (possibly not even worth mentioning), all your grades will matter for applying to grad schools.

McChowder... it's called censorship or irrelevantpostship

cja, it was a rhetorical question

is there such thing as a rhetorical answer?

That's a good question

I think it was a rhetorical question, Mc.

I know, lol. That's why i didn't answer it.

Mc...My response was a rhetorical one...

Oh really? I've never heard a rhetorical reponse like yours. I think mine was better.

unfortunately, my gpa transfers.

hobo which school are you transferring to?

probably UCSD, after i get rejected from USC.

For those of you transferring to USC this is what it says on their website.

"Once you are admitted, a transfer GPA will be established for all transferable course work; this average will be considered with your USC GPA to determine your eligibility for graduation with honors."
