Transfering As a PreMed student

I currently go to NYIT in New York. I feel that if I were to apply to a medical school after taking the MCATs I would have a lesser chance of getting into a good medical school. I am thinking of transfering to Drexel university in PA and getting into their PreMed program, especially because they ahve a Medical school on site. NYIT also does, but it is strictly for DO's, NYCOM.

If anyone has any suggestions please reply ASAP.

Would appreciate it very much.

Why don’t you try transferring to Stonybrook? They have an excellent pre-med program with a hospital/ medical school on campus and you can also find a mentor to assist you. Since your already a New York resident, you can also get the instate tuition. City College and Hunter College also seem to be really well known about sending pre-med students to medical school. So is Binghampton Univ.

There is not really any data to support that transferring to somewhere like Drexel or Stonybrook will boost your chances at all.

Additionally, Drexel’s med school is not on the same site as the undergrad program, it’s across town.
