Hey guys and girls, I'm glad to finally become an user of College Confidential. Anyways I currently attend a community college and will be graduating with an associates after this upcoming semester. I plan to apply to Rutgers school of Arts and Sciences in the following weeks to complete a 4 year degree in Criminal Justice. I'm just worried that I might be rejected because I dropped out of high school the beginning of my junior year and shortly after got a GED. I passed all of my classes as a freshman/sophomore with a's,b's, and c's. In addition I currently hold a 3.7 at my CC. I just want to know what are my chances of getting into Rutgers.

Oh and it seems like I do fulfill the high school entrance requirements for Rutgers as per an admissions rep.

Your CC GPA will be fine. If you are at a CC in NJ, look at the transfer agreement between your CC and Rutgers. If you successfully complete all of the requirements within the transfer agreement prior to graduating from CC, your HS will not matter in the least and you will not have to complete any of the SAS requirements at Rutgers.

Yes I attend RVCC which has an admissions agreement with Rutgers for various majors including mine . However, for my major Rutgers will guarantee admissions to the Newark campus, not the New Brunswick campus and truthfully I don’t know that I want to commute to Newark everyday as it’s a bit far.

Your HS grades won’t matter once you complete your Associates or are in your final semester to complete your Associates under Rutger’s transfer guidelines, guaranteed admittance to a particular campus or not. You’ll get in to New Brunswick
