Hello,

I am in my first semester at The University of Texas - San Antonio and don't really like it. I transferred in after 2 years at my local community college. If i wanted to transfer out of UTSA (Next fall) and into UT how would transferring my hours work then. When I transferred into UTSA from my CC i was told only 66 hours from CC can transfer to UTSA. How would it work if I wanted to transfer a second time? If I took 30 hours at UTSA (having a total of around 105 hours) how many hours could I transfer to UT? Do they have a limit?

Thanks!

You’d have to check with UT for the specific policies. They’re going to vary from school to school.

You would send them transcripts from both your CC and from UT San Antonio. Most schools have some kind of limit on accepted transfer credit hours. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. You’ll generally still receive prerequisite credit for all of the courses you’ve taken, they simply won’t all be counted toward your credit hours. That’s because most schools have a required x number of credit hours that must be taken on their campus in order to get a degree from them.
