Hi to everyone who happened to chance upon here. This lonely little thread deserves some love :)
I'm class of 2017, and the only good college I got into this year (besides the safeties) was Macaulay Honors College at Baruch. I know I kind of bombed this year because the essays were a big part of the application and I did not give them much emphasis. To all you with super strong Macaulay school spirit-I'm not saying I will not like it because obviously the scholarships and laptop is great, and I have not studied there yet, but just if it happens that I'm not a good fit, as a plan b, is it doable to transfer from Macaulay to a nice little LAC like Williams or Amherst or Dartmouth? Or a bigger university like the other Ivies and Stanford or NYU Stern? Is it realistic?
Money is sort of an issue but it seems the Ivies are pretty generous with aid. Not sure about LACs though...
I'm planning to study economics (or finance if they have it) and go into ibanking after school.

Congrats on your acceptance to Macaulay Honors College at Baruch!

You were part of the 22.7% of our applicant pool that received a Macaulay acceptance.

I don’t believe that there is a college in the U.S. that could stop you from transferring to another institution. That said, Macaulay students have such a great experience here that our 1st year retention rate (% of students you stay in the college after the first year) is over 93%. This is a statistic that we encourage you to compare to most IVY league colleges and other schools you are considering.

The Macaulay experience means a lot more than a full-tuition scholarship:
