I asked this in another forum, but I'm asking it here now cause I think this might be a better spot for it.

I've been accepted as an English major, but I really want to major in Civil Engineering or Architecture. Unfortunately these two majors are in completely different schools. Can I switch colleges if I accept my acceptance as an English major? What will it take?

Please help me. I really want to go to UCLA, but I want to be an Engineer, not an English major (nothing against the English major).

Well I applied under both Civil Engineering and English, but I’ve been considering lately what I really want to do, and now I want Civil Engineering.

Haha I’ve gotten in as an English major as well, though in essence, that’s kinda for lack of a better option. I intend to transfer to the UCLA Film School come the end of my 2nd year.

Why didn’t I just apply as a film major? Simple, the undergrad film program at UCLA doesn’t accept incoming Freshmen; they only take on upper division transfers. It’s kind of unfortunate to be sure, but it’s just the way it is. I figure that it’s considerably easier to get into the film school as an already-attending UCLA student than as a CC transfer.

English was always my second-choice major though, so in my case it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Just a hoop to jump through haha.

@chrisxluna : oh crap do we really need good senior grades to switch majors at orientation? cuz i think my senior gpa is going to be like crap, more specific like round 3.5 weighted lol
