I am currently at St.John's and the cost of housing is becoming overwhelmimg and commuting from home is a hassle since I don't have a car. I was thinking about transfering but I'm not sure where. I'm considering mainly Pace and Marymount Manhattan College and I may possibly consider a CUNY school. I am gonna major in the social sciences (psychology or sociology) and I may possibly apply to med school after graduation. Which school would be best?

The bus can be a hassle to get to and from the St. John’s Queens campus. There are several CUNYs that are near a subway line. Have you looked at Hunter?

Queens College might be a good option for you. There are dorms now, which I understand are very nice. You also wouldn’t be too far from SJU so you could keep up with your friends. Queens has a very good social sciences program. If you want to go to medical school, you should opt for a lower cost undergrad.

You could live at Queens College for less than the tuition alone at SJU.

I’ve thought about Hunter but I’m not sure if its a right fit for me and I don’t really want to stay in queens

Hunter is in Manhattan, not Queens.
