Transfering from Tech a good idea?

I'm thinking about transferring from Texas Tech to the University of North Texas for the fact that the University of North has has a Pre-Pharmacy program such as Tech does, its closer to home and I'm thinking its a relatively cheaper school(correct me if I'm wrong). As of right now I really do like Tech and all, but by the end of my sophomore year I'll be owing around 10k and thats just not what I'm trying to have to pay back. So far its only been the first semester and I don't even think I'm making the right grades to even be paying that much money here. And, I don't really think Pharmacy school looks at the college you came from as long as you have the Pre-reqs done, community service and the PCAT done(again correct me if I'm wrong)
My current college GPA is a 2.7(As I said terrible) from this semester
Highschool GPA is a 3.66
SATs 1750
I'm not worried about whether or not I'll be able to transfer, just worried whether or not if its the right decision as I am a high indecisive person. And, I'm looking to at least apply to Pharmacy school after my sophmore year, any future help is greatly appreciated.
