Transfering from UCD to another UC

Hi, currently I'm a sophomore I am studying econ, but want to study business (UCD dosen't have a business program). My GPA from my freshman and sophomore years is pretty low (less than a 3.0).

But if I get my act together and do well in my econ classes this quarter/next year, what are the chances I can transfer to a school such as UCLA or Berkley for my 4th year, or am I better off just waiting until I apply for grad schools.

i dont think you will be able to transfer to ucb or ucla, but if u get like all A’s from now on you have a chance for irvine or riverside

UCLA doesn’t have an undergrad in business. You could try to transfer to Berkeley for business administration, but your chances are VERY VERY VERY slim. Berkeley accepts a small pool of transfers to Haas and top priority is given to community college students. You would need close to a 4.0 and very excellent extracurriculars to even stand a chance. Last year approx. 1-2 UC students were able to switch to Berkeley’s business program.

Besides, if you are currently a sophomore, then you are probably too late to try to transfer out of Davis. There is a transfer cap of 120 credits and chances are you will probably exceed that by the time you “get your act together” next year.

I highly suggest bringing up that GPA as high as possible so you stand a chance for a good grad school.

if you work hard and maintain a GPA 3.5 or above, i would say u have a gd shot at UCSD cux i know two of my frd transfer from davis to SD and they said it wasnt that hard

There is a unit cap for transfers from other 4-year colleges (including UCs). Check [University of California - Counselors](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/adminfo/transfer/advising/answers/applying.html#5) for the restrictions for each UC campus (and the individual colleges/majors).

UCSD management sciences is your best hope.
second best would probably be business econ at UCI or UCSB.

your best hope is PROBABLY to go to a community college for a while.
that said I’m not an expert and you should DEFINITELY look into it more before following my advice as this isn’t my specialty at all since you’d have A LOT of units.
